All were born in Malpeque, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The first settlers arrived from Scotland in 1770.
Louise Simpson graduated from the Nursing College in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, and married Neil W. Higgins. They had two children, Janet and Donald. They moved to St. Petersburg in September, 1950 with their 5 year old son Donald after the death of their 7 year old daughter, Janet, due to a sudden illness.
Louise and Neil were divorced shortly after moving to St. Petersburg and Louise remarried William J. Dodenhoff who had two children, William Jr and Dorothea, by a prior marriage.
Louise worked for 25 years as a Registered Nurse at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersuburg before retiring. She was an active member of First Congregational Church, enjoyed walking, bird watching, scrabble, crossword puzzles, and crokinole.
